Can Roses be transplanted in summer?

    HI everyone, Can I transplant some roses I have will they bw ok If I do it now,they are getting way to big for my bed I think they were marked wrong when I bought them, about the size, I have another place I can put them where they will be beautiful. I have already cut them down once but now they are back to about 8ft, tall again and wide. They have done so good this summer, Thank you for your help

    Yes, they can be.I have sucessfully transplanted roses in the summer, and they have done well. Perfect time to do so, because it wil allow the roots to be well established before cold weather sets in. Make sure you water them well.

    If you do, I always say, water, water, water...for at least 3 weeks and longer if it is very dry...

    I've transplanted roses but in November, they're dormant and settle down during the winter. But it can be done in summer if you water before and after.after. like you've got a climbing rose or a rambling rose.
