In warm regions parsnips can be planted in the fall for use as a winter crop.
    Do you grow parsnips?

I tried but not a single one came up ! You see,, we do not have fall here,,! It goes straight from summer to winter ! Poor seeds did not have a chance !

One spring when I planted parsnips they did not all grow in the beginning. I planted new parsnips in the empty spaces where the original ones had been.

I grow them, have to start them off in spring in the conservatory I put compost in empty kitchen roll tubes and plant the seeds in the top, put about 5 seeds in. If all the seeds come up i thin them out to 2 seeds in each. When the roots have reached the bottom i plant them out as they are after hardening them off.
To make sure that there's no stones i fill the hole with old compost.
