I love regrowing things often discarded, especially fruit and such.

It's just something I like to do. Like pineapple tops, mango pits, date pits. I always replant carrot and veggie tops. what's something's you simply can't seem to throw out and like to regrow.

I love to try and germinate avocados. It rarely works but I will bang my head on that wall every year.

Green onions work really well and grow quickly. I planted apple seeds as a child and now there are two huge trees that actually produce edible apples. I’m sure that doesn’t happen all the time but it worked well for me.

Have you ever successfully sprouted a mango? Can you tell me how you did it?

Full sun and lots of heat since they are a tropical plant. And there are many different varieties with possibly different growing conditions.
You can try getting some roots started like you would an Avocado or just stick in a pot of soil and keep it wet.

This is an appealing thread, but maybe not a good idea for me. What with the herbs and potted annuals from the summer garden, every window is now full!! I have three clivias in the bathroom that you have to fight your way through to sit on the throne. One of our sliding doors is impassable because I have plants covering every square inch in front of it. I have florescent lights in the basement with plants on shelves.

My husband is very patient with me.

Heh, heh, heh...Cayu I would feel very at home in your house. What a blessing to have a tolerant partner.

Deana, you sure do have a good touch with old or discarded things. I like them as well. As a matter of fact when we go to look for things in the Spring, the first section that we visit is the "priced-down table".
