Hmmmm....this is sounding interesting. A brewing controversy in the gardening world! Cult practitioners, lazy gardeners, practitioners kicked out of organizations! Who wodda thunk it?

Actually I do think I will do some more reading on the topic.
@Odif you have given me another name to look up. Any others?
And what ideas did you find helpful, amid the all the hooey and hype?

@Cayuga Morning What do I like about permaculture? The main thing that I like is that permaculture works with nature rather then against nature. The point is to create abundance and that no waste leaves the site. Lots of techniques that I use are also permaculture techniques. No dig raised beds, swales, grey water cleaning with plants, forest garden. Bill Mollison‘s books are an excellent resource with loads of information. Check up Sepp Holzer an amazing 75 hectare permaculture project in Austria.

Permaculture is also a way of life it is an holistic approach.

Hiya CAYU--I have heard of Ruth Stout and even seen some very old vids. I did not realize that you were already doing so much good stuff. My apologies. BTW... I know what you mean with neighbouring plots standing in water while mine is not. Anyhow...keep up the good work.

ODIF--I think that many of the Permaculturists are cultish as well. The woman that I talked to certainly fell into that category. Well, I found her idea too fanatical, I just keep on doing my thing my way. It was interesting speaking with her though, when I could get a word in edgewise. hahaha.
