Good Saturday morning all. Currently 4°C and overcast with some fog.
Hoping the sun will come out today ... want to get the back roof done today!
Yesterday I transplanted all my tomato, cucamelon and salvia seedlings and put them into my little pop up greenhouse in the mud room. When it warms up I'll unzip the cover, but until then they are toasty warm inside.
Have a great day all :)

Finally, we have sunshine! After all that rain this past week, things are pretty squishy out there. I slipped and slid to the barn to feed the hens, who are confined to quarters because the outside coop is a swimming pool (and although they have wings, they don't have water wings). I'd love to get into the gardens and prune roses, but I don't have water wings either!
I was talking to a neighbor about how wet a spring we are having and was hoping things would dry out a bit, and she said, "God will provide." I answered, "Well, I wish God would take back some of her provisions!"

    Good Monday evening,
Line of Duty was brilliant, can't wait for the next series.
Didn't do much in the garden still too cold.
Made a greetings card, it does take a long time to decide what to put on it.
    Have a good evening all.

Logan, I love your posts, and would like to see photos of some of your greeting cards.
We had a sunny, slightly breezy day, so I played Paul Bunyan and removed hackberry tree seedlings from flower beds. I loathe hackberries--they pop up everywhere where they are not welcome!
Potted up the last of the herbs and moved some container plants to the front bed. While trundling back and forth to the barn I saw we have two squash plants in bloom. Gosh, I love springtime!

Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 5°C and overcast. Rain is in the forecast again today. We had sun for a day and a half ... it was nice while it lasted. Things haven't really dried up much, and it still isn't very warm. This is the spring that wasn't haha
Off to work, still raking ... must have raked 10 acres by now
Have a great day all :)

Thank you @marlingardener but they're too large to put them on here.
Tried to cut them down but no good.

Yep, still raining and cold here. I took my old bee mentor to the hospital yesterday for a lens replacement. We went up to the info desk to ask for directions and of course the woman had to have some info about him, as he was coming for a lens replacement.

So she was asking all these questions and so then she asked him when he was born and he said, "day, month and 1932". I piped-up and said, "Don't you mean 1832, mate"?
When we were in the pre room for the actual op, a few things had to be done like taking some blood and atropine drops had to go in his eye to dilate the pupil. The assistant told him what she was doing and I asked my mentor if I should bring some sunglasses from home when I returned to pick him up to take him home. He thought for a moment and said yes. The assistant interjected and said that he would have a patch over his eye at the end of the procedure as she looked at me with a schowl. I said "Oh" very innocently and winked at her. She rolled her eyes and I heard a release of wind and a soft "Tch" under her breath. My mentor (usually very sharp, was a disadvantage, so I got away with that one.

The assistant asked me to stay until the blood test results were back and agreed. All was Oké finally and she said that I could leave now, and I would get a fone call when he was ready to be picked up. I asked her if it wasn't possible to just leave him there.

So then back at home I finally got a fone call from what sounded like a 12 y.o. girl saying that he was ready to be picked up. I thanked her and and said that I was leaving the house now. First I called the Mentor's wife at their home and told her that the Bride and I were on the way to pick up her man.

We rolled up in front of the hospital and he came hobbling out the front door with a large white patch over his eye. He bent down and opened the car door and I said, "Just get in, Capt. Hook, people are waiting".

So when we were underway back to his place, I told him about the child that had called me to come and get him...and he said "Oh, she was a cute little thing...and so friendly..and smart"...I grinned and thought, "Old fool". He further said that he had said to her...."Finally I get a lovely nurse to take help me and I have a patch on one eye and can't see out of the other". We all laughed at that one.

When we got home his wife was waiting for us...worried (she is a worrier). Once inside we saw that she had made a pound cake especially for us (she knows that my Bride and I especially like her home-made pound cake). She had also bought some wonderful bon-bon's and chocolate cherry and liquor things as well. We teased her for going OTT but she just wanted to show appreciation for taking her man back and forth. I didn't want to detract from her effort, so I let it go and just thanked her abundantly.

Right then, once we were all sitting and my mentor began to tell his wife about the operation my Bride and his Bride went off into the kitchen and began preparing the pound cake and tea. It is open, so they could talk to each other without difficulty.

At one point, she called in to my mentor and asked id he wanted a smear of butter on his pound cake. He, of course, said yes.

Now then, what my mentor and I did not know what was going on in the kitchen. His wide started to get the butter but my Bride whispered
"No, let's just use that left-over dough...and see if he will notice the difference".
His wife looked very unsure (she is a traditional wife).

So, in came the tea and cake. The conversation resumed and after consuming half the tea and caner my Bride chirped...."Was there enough butter on that cake for you"? To which he replied that there was...that it was perfect.
My Bride then said, well, that's funny because there isn't any butter on that cake at all, just the leftover dough. It was silent for a few seconds as the grinning girls gave each other elbows and I just looked at my mentor. then we all burst out laughing all at once. His and my Bride were explaining to him, but I developed one of those awful laughing syndromes that would not stop. You know the ones...I used to get them in church. They always happen at times when one should not do it. Sometimes actors get that when trying to take a scene. Gosh, the tears were streaming down my cheeks.

You know my Bride and I pick on my mentor so ruthlessly because he is one of those old-fashioned gentlemen--very intelligent and no-nonsence, but at the same time he does have a great sense of humour. He is a sort of jolly Asperger- type.
Oh my word--I was so happy when I could finally stop laughing.

The Bride and I will go to see a French film this afternoon about a group of middle-aged men that were coerced into becoming a group of synchronised swimmers to represent France in the Olympics. It is a tragi-comedy.

Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 5°C and clear. Another dry day ahead!
My entire body is stiff this morning, and my feet hurt. I think my body is rebelling all the garden work I have been doing!
I'm going to have to suck it up because there are 6 months ahead of me!
Have a great day all :)

    ?Good Thursday evening all
Been raining again today so no gardening again.
Kept on getting wet walking the boys and they were getting dirty from the splashes from the pavement.
Think I might have worked out how to change the pics to put on here.
Here's some greetings cards that i have made.
