I'm soooo glad that it wasn't our car the wasps took a liking to!! I can tackle most insects but wasps really freak me out. As long as they're outside eating all the insects such as flies, caterpillars and beetle larvae then that's fine by me but beware if you're a wasp and enter my domain.:smt021

WOW.... I would stay clear of that area... Years ago when we lived with a woods in our backyard we found a huge nest. For some reason it was empty so we donated it to a teacher that wanted it for his class. I wish we would have taken a picture of it first.

Yeah, I have a yearly fight in the lottie with wasps. They try and get into my bee hives and eat honey and larvae. I sometimes see one on the frames in-between the honey bees. I just grab it and mash the thing to bits.
They also eat our fruits...they are such a pest.

Oh meid, they do! They will eat dead ones lying around the hives, but also creep in and take the pupae out of the honey bee comb cells and then fly back to their nests to feed their colony.

Hmmm. Another reason to dislike them. I have the golden digger wasps, very benign solitary wasps. They rid my garden of grasshoppers etc. I hope they are not going for the honey bees.

I do not think that they will...but you never know. I am always vigil about anything that would disturb my girls.

Whoa! That is nuts. 'tis the season for wasps, at least in the North. Now until about Oct 15. Getting rid of them can be difficult, they are tough little buggers.

I have one banging against my office window as I write.

Oh dear Anne. Good luck with that.

We have discovered that we have Carpenter bees in the roof of our sunroom. They are very active in the spring and early summer, making their nests, laying their eggs & then they go dormant. They are dormant right now, awaiting spring.

World it be effective to try to spray the nests now? They probably only contain the eggs.
