Well we had a barbecue and 3 different people gave me expensive whiskey. The evening was very good. Everyone remarked on how much fun they had.

Last night we met our son's girlfriend for the first time. We like her:. she is smart, funny and nice! Dinner was pan roasted salmon with sauteed zucchini and crispy fingerling potatoes from the garden. Delicious! For dessert, we has a simple dish of ice cream or sherbert with raspberries, blueberries & blackberries.

Tonight will be grilled chicken breast, green beans with almonds (from our own trees!), pears with bleu cheese (our pears, also!) and a nice white wine.
P.S. I should add the almonds are from our trees, not the green beans.

@marlingardener Easy, just cook the same thing every day for now until eternity. I did it in college.

Had burgers and fries tonight. Very good with pickled peppers to top the off. This weekend I need to put some thought into what to make for Labor Day. I may even brew a batch of beer... Hmmmm.

    Wow, I am impressed @Catdaddy6676 .

We had polenta with carmelized corn, pork, spinach & mushrooms. Delicious! On the side were fresh homegrown tomatoes and homegrown basil with olive oil.

We have what we are having what we call preischotel. It is a mix of veggies (and primarily leek), ground beef or chook, paprika and spuds with a sort of curry sauce.

That sounds awesome! May have to get some leeks and try it out.

Well, the family unit would like to have fried fish and shrimp tomorrow, soooo... Ok.

No beer was made but the fish and shrimp came out fantastic. My daughter said the shrimp were "the best I've ever had!"

It was my very first time frying shrimp, tbh...

    Maybe she was being nice.
