Husband has a summer cold, the very worst kind to have. I'm making a batch of "cure or kill" chicken vegetable soup with homemade stock as a base, six different vegetables as ingredients, and oh, yes, diced chicken. I sure hope it cures his cold. I'd miss him terribly if it kills him . . . .

    Squab, eh?? Sounds tasty...

Tomorrow I want to do a homemade tomato sauce with beef over penne pasta. Saw a recipe online and I have a few San Marzano tomatoes left from the garden. Yummy!

A town where I work has a commercial outfit that grows, processes and sells them. They are big for pigeons, like 3-4#'s each.

Another 16 litres of tomato sauce, Provençal style. On the left is plum chutney.

Pan seared salmon with mango salsa; spinach and blueberry salad with a Ginger soy peanut butter dressing; and quinoa with roasted carrots pistachios and currants. This was a joint venture with my husband daughter & me. Three cooks in the kitchen!

Garden beans are a rare commodity this year.
