It has been a weird past three days, with intermittent sun and showers the whole time. The only work that we did was to help Nettie with cleaning up her lottie and then taking the debris to the communal compost bins for her.
Other than that, we have done no gardening and enjoying the fun-things to do in the city.

We have had a "Cultural Weekend" going on here, featuring dance, art in all forms and music as well as food sorts to sample. I enjoy these frequent do's because I see folks that I have not seen for a while and it is nice to catch-up. We saw quite a few today.
There have been art markets with stalls along the main shopping streets of our town. There was bead work, oil and aquarelle paintings, carving and metal work, jewellery...also folks who sold sketches and cards. We got a few of those for Christmas. It is so pleasant top stroll and look, interspersed with taking tea and sitting on a terrace or having ice cream. Then wandering back to the harbour to see the activities there and a fishie, of course. There have been food tasting stalls and last night the annual "Harbour Concert". Primarily classical, but also something more frivolous. The concert began with a nice performance given by selected students attending the conservatorium in town. Next were trios of singers and more musici. Finally in the evening, more arias being sung and played and then to wind up with a sort of jazz presentation.

It was all given from a boat that motored into the small inner harbour and anchored there. Here it is during the afternoon performance:

Then after eating at the pub by the harbour tower, the evening performance:

It is always such a good atmosphere there...people of all ages, many sipping on a wine or champagne. Everyone was jovial and respectful of the artists. The very last song that the artists sing is always one that is almost like a city anthem. The audience sings along and it is the perfect end to the evening. The artists that come to perform in our town always end their show with this song...whether it be a classical group or sea shanty singers. The artists always put a spin on the melody that is from their genre.

It is almost time for supper here, so I'm off.

I love outings as you described particularly if I run into people I know and having lots of different foods to sample is no deterrent! ;) :)
