Brought it home and presented it to me as a rare find, knowing how much I’d love it!!! Look how perfect it is!! I love how completely he gets me and my quirky tastes! :flower:

Well there's an old saying that sums this up - "One mans rubbish is another mans treasure" - you've got a man that certainly knows a little treasure when he sees it Ronni!! :smt023

Great find. I could also imagine a tall glass of ice tea sitting on that thing instead of a plant. hahaha.

How about the plant AND the tea, Sjoerd? ;)

Plenty of room for both and as I’ve worked on the porch area I’ve managed to repurpose other finds as makeshift plant stands/side tables combined so there’s always room to put a drink or coffee.

That sounds like a good idea, Ronni.
Now that I look back at the foto, I can see that both would easily fit.

Ronni, you're a female after my own heart. I have no room for rare finds and it hurts when I see something in the trash or a yard sale and I have to say, "Self, NO!" So many items in our home are things someone tossed. An old desk became a nice, small chest after the kneehole side was removed and the remainder stained. An old Cedar chest fairly cried out to me at a yard sale, "Take me home!" It has been sitting happily in front of the sofa for years, content to have a home.
I LOVE your table and how blessed when your mate agrees.

Woo Hoo - You SCORED! I'd of had it in a heartbeat if I'd seen it first :) The only things I've liberated latey is a snip off of a small branch of a coleus growing outside the Seniors Center. The plant is huge and bushy and will be allowed to grow until we get a frost so I figured 'what the heck' it is end of season and the count down to frost is now on so thought I'd help myself to a small branch. It is rooting well and a very different bronze colour.

I'm sure the Coleus is full enough that a small snippet won't be noticed missing. I hope it grows well for you. (Your crme is safe with me!)

@Growingpains "WHEW" I was worried there for a bit. Don't think I'd look good in white & black cross pattern'd bars going across me. I've watched this coleus grow from late spring 'til now and I've really admired the rich bronze. I've been tempted since I saw it but refrained 'til now cause any day we'll be getting too cold for it and it'll die. Isn't like the City Gardeners are keeping it so I didn't feel too bad about snapping off a small branch which is rooting very well in the aquarium too. Going to leave it until I get mega roots then will plant it. I kinda want to stretch it out over the winter here so that come spring it'll be real ready to grow BIG!
