All the conifer stuff has now been taken to the tip. Next job is to remove the next stretch of hedge.

Cut down the lowest branches on one of the next conifer hedge. Took some doing too as they were all entangled. Managed 4 trips to the re-cycling. Filled the bulk bag and other things ready for another set of trips tomorrow. There is an awful lot of stuff to be got rid of too. The soil round the base of the tree needs to be dug out to sever the roots so we can have a go at pushing it over, but the ground is almost solid rocks. It is going to take some clearing to get at the roots.

Cleared off the cut down stuff this morning. The pile still there is stuff to be shredded.

Cut down the top of the first tree and the branches from the second tree.

Moved the logs from the trees up to the top of the garden. I am using them to thicken the hedge along the top of the bank above the road.

Cleared away all the bits and shredded the dry stuff.

Then we spent the rest of the day trying to remove the first stump. Finally got it down just as the rain began.

Next dry day we will have to cut it up and take away the logs. It was a swine of a job too. Next stump is ready to be looked at, but if it is as hard as that one I think it may have to stay. The end one definitely will be left in.

That is the last of the conifers cut down and two of the three stumps removed. the final one will have to stay,it is just too big for us to move.
Cut up and removed the first tree trunk.
Cut off all the branches of the third tree.
Dug out and cut up the middle stump.

Cut the third stump down as far as I could.

Next job is to remove all the brash to the re-cyling place. We also need to fill up the holes and level out the bank for the neighbour.

Mate...what a mammoth task that was! Crikey.
Will you have to amend the soil that was under those trees at all?
You have done a super job. I am taking my hat off to you almost every posting of yours that I read...I may as well just hang my hat up on the hat rack and leave it there.

Wow it looks like some of you have really big gardens :smt120. I have a pretty small one in comparison. But it's less work then I guess. :)

Quite a difference from first image to last. All we need now is the fence.

The bungalow is our neighbour. Our garden ends about level with the bottom of the gate on the right.

Yes but it's still quite some ground to have pleasure in and design something to which you like, you've worked none stop since moving there :)
