    Evening toni from the UK 19-13pm here ;) our temps are in the 50's here now and colder at night but nice to hear you got some planting done, nothing worse than extreme heat.

    Hubby says he is no longer afraid of me now that the weather has changed :like:
    Still no rain in the forecast but I have 5 rain water barrels to water from for now.

    Omg this as made me laugh toni :smt082 it's raining here at the moment come and get some, it's just never ending at the moment, that's one think i've never done is rain barrels ,it must be really helpful :like:

    Hubby created the set-up for my rain barrels a few years ago. Using them has saved us quite a lot of money. Some states here do not allow them but Texas has a law on the books stating that no one can stop you from having rain barrels...cities, HOA's or anyone. three of mine are in the backyard where no can see them, one out front is hidden behind a decorated fence panel and the other one is in the north shade bed and not so visible unless you are looking for it. The three out back are sitting on cinder blocks and have spigots near the bottom for filling buckets when needed. The two out front have electric pumps...one uses an old fashioned pump that is hooked up to an electric motor and the other one uses a copper tea kettle also wired to an electric motor for the water to fill the pots.

    toni these laws and restrictions can be a pain, we don't have that here and how you hide them ;) but making them work to a function which helps is good and how you've done them..i wished i lived abroad instead of this country :( even though there's rules in certain ones.

    Currently just 2°C and clear.
    Off to work for a day of clearing out gardens.They all have to be cleaned up by the end of the month.
    It's getting too cold to garden, and I'm ready to get my house in order.

    Good morning, and TGIF doesn't mean much when you are retired!
    I added shavings to the nest boxes for the hens, harvested more herbs and made herb butter (don't know exactly what I'm going to do with all this herb butter :setc_039:), and did a lot of "cat dancing" down the path to the barn. Timi and Cali are in very affectionate moods, which involves making figure eights around my ankles.

    Good morning all.....yes we got rain last night, 2.21 inches. But a tornado was part of the storm and it ripped up a portion of Dallas just a few miles south of us. A lot of damage but only a few injuries, no deaths. It was either an F-1 or F-2...the weather service will be figuring that out today. A couple of main and usually very busy streets are closed until the buildings sitting in the middle of them in pieces can be removed.

    Toni, thank heavens you escaped the tornado damage. Did you lose power? The news reported that many in the area had. I'm sure you are thankful for the rain! We didn't get any of the rain predicted for our area, so this morning I was out watering the newly emerging veggies.

    Updated information is that there were 3 tornadoes last, EF1, EF2 and an
    EF3.
    We didn't loose power. I will be picking up Pecan tree parts tomorrow but that is all the wind damage we had.

    Good Tuesday morning all. Currently 7°C and raining. I'm off to work despite the rain, to try and get some cleanup done. I don't think I'll last the day, but at least a little time will be good.
    Then I'll come home and do some cleaning before we have to be at the rink.

    Good morning all. More rain over night and into the morning...another 1.81 inches in the rain gauge. These two rain events of a little more than 3 inches have added up to more than we got from May thru early October.
    Also, the national weather service has up dated the number of tornadoes in the area Sunday night to 10. Luckily they were mostly very week ones that just took off shingles and some tree branches.

    Good Sunday morning all. Currently 7°C and overcast. We had heavy rain fall overnight, enough that the sump pump in the basement has been running. Must have been a lot of rain!!
    Today is the first day of the week that we aren't at a rink. Daughter trained hard all week for a competition on Friday. We weren't sure how it would go as she 'moved up' and was competing at a new level for the first time. She managed to come home with a bronze medal! Very proud of her hard work, but today I have a lot to do around the house and I'm thankful I won't be at the rink today.
