    Sounds delicious SJ.

    I am going to a cookbook book club meeting tonight at the library. Second meeting. Last one was soups and breads. This one is appetizers. I was going to make a recipe from a Martha Stewart cookbook of wild roasted mushrooms on polenta, but I ran out of steam. I did an easier recipe from the same book:. Roasted small potatoes wrapped in bacon.

    Tonight it will be salmon steaks again with our own spinach and mack 'n cheese out of a box.

    It's cold today, so we are going to our "comfort food"--Italian! Rigatoni with marinara sauce topped with motzarella and fresh parsley, onion and herb bread, and a fresh lettuce salad from the garden, accompanied by a nice heavy Chianti wine.

    We are both suffering with a bad cold, so we are not putting much energy into cooking. Tonight we will have some pot pies and our own broccoli.

    Oh Mart--I am so sorry--That came out of a box, the Bride did not make that one. It was just perfect though.

    Tonight it is fresh Spaghetti Bolognaise. I am still licking my fingers from the sous-work and tasting. ;)

    We had leftovers from our one-day-late Christmas dinner:. Shrimp and grits, broccoli, and 3 pestos: pra, beet and Basil ( get the red and green theme?)

    We had a couple of the left-over pot pies with some potato and egg salad, hummus, egg and agbergine salad and chicken salads, The "salads" were all small left overs from the gourmetten. The pot pies were super once again.

    We are also having leftovers. Our daughter made a delicious vegan stew for one of our dinner guests. It is lentil based, but has potatoes, sweet potatoes, leeks, tomatoes, kale and I don't know what else. Truly and surprisingly delicious.

    It was my husband's birthday last night so I made salmon, asparagus, and a new dish. My husband has become glutin intolerant (isn't aging fun?) so I bought some garbanzo flour and made a flat bread in a heated black iron frying pan. When it was done, I covered it in a mix of sauteed mushrooms, thyme, shallots and fontina cheese. It went back in the oven to melt the cheese. Then I sprinkled chopped parsley on top. It was delicious. I liked the garbanzo flat bread and I think it is something I can experiment with.
    Husband was pleased!

    I just read and re-read and re-read your post again...y'know Cayu--that meal sounds great. That is one lucky chap, in spite of the glutin intolerance. I have never heard of a bread made from this pea-sort.

    Sticky chicken with our own hot peppers in the honey sauce.
