The Brown Thrasher and the White Crowned Sparrows have returned within this past week. Also saw an Oriole this morning. Soon the Hummers will be here. Just wanted to share a pic of the Thrasher and Sparrow with you. The sparrow is serenading the other White Crowned sparrow.

The Thrasher is an amazing singer. He mimics other birds and will sit in the tree tops and sing for a long time. Google it's song as it is really beautiful.

Tooty, we have white crowned sparrows, too! They love to visit our platform feeder, stroll around the path, and drink from our bird waterer.
We don't have the amazing singing thrasher, but we do have mockingbirds. We even had one that mimicked the whistle my husband gave to tell the cats the food was on the patio. A bird that summons cats? Perhaps not the brightest bird . . . .

Marlin Thrashers are similar to Mocking birds in mimicking other bird songs. Yes not the smartest bird to summon cats.
Mart wow that would be fun to have them around all year. We also have Cat birds and I love to hear them mew.
