I have a volunteer clematis that is a cross between a jackamani and the double white Duchess of Edinburgh. You can see the blooms from last year here https://www.gardenstew.com/threads/currently-showing-its-color.41087/#post-376865 This year the plant is still evolving with much lighter color and no double. It’s still pretty and it has been interesting to see the changes.
Jewell.. interesting!!! I would have expected it to go in the opposite direction, ie from a simple flower to a double! How interesting to watch this Clem emerge! BTW I loved seeing the photos of your garden from last year!
Thanks Mart and Sjoerd for the compliment. Much appreciated CM although it doesn’t have the double petals the inside has lots more “insides” as the flowers have matured. Interesting indeed.
