BTW Cayu--how did that cold project go this winter? Did you freeze your nose off?

@Sjoerd it got cancelled by the forester! They had an unusually warm winter, the ground did not freeze sufficiently to let them get their heavy equipment back in the woods. It was very disappointing. We all (husband, my brother & me) were all in limbo for 2 months, waiting to hear.

The forester felt badly, but it is all weather dependant. He says he will come this summer. This we all doubt because the farm gets a lot of rain. It is in the rain belt of the Great Lakes. I suspect it wont be until next winter.
Thanks for asking. I'll keep you posted

What a shame. Being in limbo was the worst, I suppose.

Yes. And our ash trees are dying from the emerald ash tree borer. Thst is why we thought we would cull the forest. The ashes are dying, we might as well get some money for them before they are actually dead. Once dead they are only good for firewood. And they are a fall risk in the woods.

What a shame about that borer. That is a serious problem, Cayu. I hope that the foresters can help you this summer. Fingers crossed.

Just finished Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Excellent book, highly recommend it.

Reading Say Nothing (Patrick Radden Keefe) about the murder of a young mother in North Ireland during the time of the troubles. Interesting.

The libraries have been closed here since mid March they are just now open on a limited schedule. So strange to me, as I was a regular. I have re-read so many books on my shelves, and recently purchased a couple new books.
A book is a must for me at all times!

@Kay do you do ebooks from the library? They have been in short supply during the pandemic because, of course, that is what everyone is doing. I find them particularly helpful if I am traveling for vacation. Beats carrying a mess of books!

Cayuga- I am old school, so nothing will do but a good old fashioned book of pages to turn.
I have a bit of a condition in my right eye, so e books aren’t so useful to me. I do have a Kindle, but I have fallen off using it.
The library will reserve books and have them ready to pick up.
I just prefer to stroll through the isles to choose my books.
Nothing will stop me reading though!!

    My Bride only reads e-books.
She and her e-reader are almost inseparable.

It took me awhile to adjust to ebooks, but now I prefer them to the actual thing.
