I hate PO rash. Its worse than Poison Ivy. And I had to go get a good dose on my arms and legs. My fault, I did not have dawn soap in the shower, and just used Fels Naptha. It was one of those hot humid days where I had already taken 2 showers, so maybe I was too fast the third time. A rainstorm had come and blew a tree down blocking the road to our neighborhood so I got my saw and cut it away but it was a bramble of vines.. Sigh- no good deed goes unpunished. What is the current methods of relief? I ordered some snail mucus the ladies use in asian skin care but other than that it's antihistimines and hydrocortisone cream, and calamine right now.
I assume its on your hands or arms you can try some Benadryl cream ! Get it at the dollar store ! There was something I heard of but can`t remember what it was ! Your local pharmacist would be good to ask about the best method ! Just try not to spread it ! Might even try alcohol in a small spray bottle ! That would help dry it up !
Dirt, that sounds terrible. I bet it is interrupting your sleep. I don't know anything about poison oak rashes, but friends who have had bad Poison Ivy rashes have been proscribed corticosteroid pills (Prednisone). You could ask your doc.
I don't know what poison oak is. I have heard of poison ivy. But neither are native to my part of the world... However generally speaking, onion juice is said to neutralize most type of insect bites and plants which irritate the skin. Onion juice is actually helpful with jellyfish stings also.
Yes Calendula is excellent, (I had forgotten all about that). It's made from marigolds. I use to apply it on our Dog, as she was often getting skin allergies from saltwater - Because of always swimming in the ocean with me. And that yellow colored Furacin ointment, that's great too, (yes I used that on our Dog too).
