Lots of research says yes, for example Peter Wohlleben.

Sooo.. Admittedly I cannot watch the videos. I get it, I saw that movie Avatar. The home tree and so forth. I am here to say that I saw a thread on a couple of fellows that were angleing to quantify the communications in the roots via electrical and (gasp dare we say it? repeatable and therefore empirical) measurement. Our future newsfeeds hold great promise, and not just for over-sensationalized clickbait titles.

Ah here is the link. One fellow is an electrical engineer, in a town just north of us about an hour by car.

I already read that article on phys.org This kind of stuff fascinates me, and I have always been interested in electricity in nature.

I assume they do "talk" in their own way.

Hey there oaky! I really like your electrons! They are all positive and happy! Nothing negative about you!

How to speak tree 101. Only 19.95 on Amazon.

Electrons have a negative charge, (never positive). Only in the nucleus of the atom do we have a positive charge, in the form of protons.

Only in antimatter do electrons have a positive charge, referred to as a positron. But this is not usually seen in nature - Except for in the radioactive decay of some isotopes of certain heavy elements. Which also emit positron beta particles, (which otherwise are usually electrons ejected out of the atoms).

    Just saying... :snicker:

Colors which we all see, are not from the electrons, or from the protons, nor the neutrons - For colors are photons, (which sometimes behaves like a wave, and at other times like a particle). But whatever it's true nature, it is energy of the electromagnetic spectrum. Which only a tiny bit of it, our eyes can see, (and recognize as colors).

Photos are usually created when electrons change their orbit - Like when going back into their ground state, from an excited higher orbit energy state. So this is how they shed all that extra energy. This is why metals glow "red hot" when heated, (atoms put in a higher excited level of energy).

    Just saying. :smt044

@S-H I have issues with this particle/wave story. This is contradictory. I know about quantum theory so no need to school me on it.
There are no contradictions in nature. A contradiction is either a lie or a lack of understanding of the subject, thus further research is merited. I suspect the « wave nature » is an effect and not intrinsic to matter. Quantum theory is probably bunk.

    Ladies and Gentlemen.

Its all hydrogen anyway and as you know from videos on the internet, one can ignite the gas from that most personal orifice. It is in fact all electromagnetic. Recently the world of material science has been stunned to contemplate a metal made of hydrogen. Also, that hydrogen linearly aligned defies previous theory. Well maybe not defies as maybe someone defends past their intelligence. Nonetheless, that area of the library has NOT been filled with definitive books on the subject. It is quite exciting though, and you should definitely google it up, because a tomato paste website like this is not really where the bones of such exciting electromagneticry are bonded.

I think I shall bow out of this conversation. I'll pretend a friend is beckoning to me from across the room.

Have you heard that if you bombarde the earth with enough photons that it will eventually produce a Tesla? Guess what else? People are crossing drones with roombas so they can vacuum the upstairs too.
