Netty, good for you, saving the Basil.
It has been a lovely day here. I cleared more in the oval garden, dug some more. I want the soil ready when Spring rolls around again.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 10°C and clear.
My mind is blank today, slept like a rock and woke 10 minutes before my alarm went off this morning.
It's going to be a long day!
Have a great day all :)

Good afternoon, almost! After a mile and a half walk, I did some more turning over of the soil in the oval garden. Harvested four Black Krim tomatoes from a couple of plants II created with suckers from the originals.
After a rest and coffee I may return to turning the soil. Gardens are hard work, but so worth it.
The feel of Fall is in the air. Frost is threatened for the northern part of Michigan tonight. Brrrrr!

Happy Saturday! We woke up to 62 degrees and with smiles on our faces! We are hoping autumn has come to stay. The grass was so wet that husband had to postpone mowing, but this afternoon we will be picking our Winesap apples. Tonight is beef stew and Cuban bread--cool weather food!

We awoke to 37 degrees, extremely low for September in Michigan.
Of course it rose into the 60s.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 8°C and sunny. Yesterday morning I awoke to 0°C and frost! Thankfully I was able to pick everything the night before. My harvest table is completely covered with my harvest ... red and green tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, beans, cantaloupe, tomatillos, squash and basil. I have the dehydrator running with the first load of basil, it should be almost ready and then I can put another batch in. I still have carrots, beets, turnip, kale and some onions in the garden, and might plant some spinach today.
Sad to think the growing season is almost over. I am already planning next years garden.
Have a great day all :)

Netty, you could open a small, corner grocer store/produce stand. You use a dehydrator while I put the Sunshield, covered with white paper towels in the rear window of my station wagon, place parsley on the towels and the sun does the rest. I have mint and borage already.

Good Monday morning all. Currently just 5°C and clear. No rain in the forecast until Sunday.
Off to work, where my days work will all depend on if we got frost. The warm lake usually makes a little micro climate there so I may be lucky.
Skating for DD tonight so it's a busy day.
Have a great day all :)

Good morning to you all! Beta is supposed to give us a rainy day with cool winds, so I have chicken vegetable soup simmering on the stove, and cheese bread rising on the counter. As I mentioned previously, I love soup season!
Husband is getting the car inspected, so I'm home alone with three cats and the hens. Good company!

Good Monday afternoon, Netty and MarlinGardener.
Today I broke down the clumps of sod/dirt I left when digging the oval garden up for Winter's rest. I found a few cucumbers for picking. I still have garlic to plant. I usually put it in the ground the early part of
    October.

Good morning this Saturday sunny and cool morning! The grass is really wet, so no gardening or mowing until things dry out. I did go out and cut the West Texas Mallow back from the path, added some artemesia, and have a nice bouquet in the dining room. I made a pasta salad for tomorrow's lunch--prediction is for the mid- to high 80's and a cold salad may be needed.
