I guess it is something of a curiosity? I live in the central US, in Missouri and here it is late autumn when most of our deciduous trees have shed their leaves for the season. But one of my old elm trees that I had cut down last winter because it was a danger tree to my home and the power lines, still has all of its SUMMER foliage and is quite green. It regrew lots of branches this summer, and they hang down much like a willow tree, but it is an elm. The oaks have some stray leaves, and the evergreens are full of their leaves and needles. Most other trees here are quite bare. It just seems odd is all.
There are a couple of trees here just like yours. Two of them are close to our apt. building. I wonder if they are shielded in some way.
This one is not shielded. However, it is finally turning yellow as of today, or maybe yesterday. Friday it was still quite green.
Elm trees have a mind of their own ! Ours are losing leaves now which is earlier than usual ! But we have had dryer weather lately !
Trees do not follow the calendar...they respond to the temperatures, number of daylight hours and night time hours they receive, Trees and other plants close to buildings will stay warmer than trees and other plants that are further away from the warmth radiating from the buildings especially if the buildings are brick, stucco or other heat absorbing material.
This one is no closer than other trees in my yard. And my elms often loose much of their leaves in July if it is too hot or dry.
