Yeah Jane... I keep saying I am ready to move to Tx. where it is warmer than here year round. I really really dislike snow and the older I get the more I dislike it.
It chills me to the bone to see that. Burrrrrrrrrr. Ironic that something that looks so beautiful can be such a headache sometimes.
well the storm is over and thankfully we kinda dodged it. we had maybe 5 in of snow but other places NE of us had up to 24" of it. this storm just spun in a stationary pattern in the same spot almost all day. my son (who has covid so is home from work and I hope okay) had 15". it should melt today and tommorrow. here is a local news station storm total page.https://www.cleveland19.com/2020/12/02/what-areas-saw-most-snow-totals-are-tuesdays-storm/
thank Mart, but we do have a small lot down in Zapata... way down south. South of laredo by an hour. got my fruit trees in the ground already. but tell me what grows well that will make shade without thorns or is a palm tree.
Check and see what grows naturally in that area ! If it were farther north I would say red oak or elm but have no idea about that far south !
I spoke too soon!! It snowed over night. It's beginning to melt now but I have a feeling there's more on the way.
Oh my! It's awfully early for snow! My husband just told me we are due for snow in two days (Saturday).
No snow yet and I'm confident we won't get one flake. How do I know this? Finally broke down and bought a snow blower so am darn sure there isn't going to be 1 flake of snow here at all (Pacific Northwest)
Islandlife... we bought a huge one two years ago because we did commercial snow plowing and I had the privilege of being the shoveler for a condo complex with a mile of street. we did the sidewalks and porches also which was hand work. after a huge snow storm (24") we decided to get a snow blower for the job... we didn't renew the contract with them and have never used it.
