I think we know spam as corned beef. At least it looks like it.

@Odif does your corned beef come in a small can?
We have something we call corned beef here in the states. It is essentially a piece of beef that is brined in salt and picking spices.

I do not believe that hat you mention there Odif is the same as pam. We have what you have as well. In our family we call it, “poep van Jetje”. Chuckle, it is an unholy name, and I don’t recall how it ever started. It is plain ole corned beef, I think that spam may be made with pork.

We are planning our Christmas meal.

    What is everyone planning?

We plan to have a simple quiche and salad tonight (X mas Eve) and lamb choppers for Xmas dinner. My family raised sheep when i was growing up so lamb is a special favorite for me.

It looks a bit like your spam. We used to call it bully beef.

My taste buds have lodged a complaint and wish to debate that statement.

Dirt, why? I think Odif's product is a slightly different one than we have here in the states. Here it is pork, ham, dried potato filler, sodium nitrate, etc. Not beef. But probably the same idea.

You notice he didn't answer my tease about if it was meant to be his Xmas dinner?

Sweetie is cooking deserts for tomorrow. Ham is getting prepared. There will be way too much food as always.

I dearly love corned beef, but I have eaten that particular Grace product in the picture, and ONLY since I have traveled to south america can I say that it is my understanding that the breeds of cattle are different, therefore the flavors and a variety of details important to my nose are different, than what we experience with the pampered and fatty beef here in the States. Same is true of the bacon imo, just not the same. I do believe the British Royal Navy may be the source of the best version of the product I know as Corned Beef, but I have not eaten my way through all the research yet!
