Taking the available vaccine is up to the individual. My husband and I have discussed it and decided to hold off until the efficacy is proven. We are fortunate in being able, and happy, to isolate, and both in pretty good health.
There are just too many variables for us to believe in the vaccine from any company.

I won't be taking it. I quit taking vaccines some years ago. There are many harmful ingredients in them, plus I have many many allergies and do not need/want any new ones. On fb there was a video of a nurse that took it, and dropped on the spot. She is reported to have died from the vaccine.

Some think a person will not be able to work, travel or anything unless they have certification that they took the vaccine. I do not know, but it seems likely.

@AAnightowl Facebook is not reliable unfortunately. A nurse did pass out after her vaccine while talking to reporters but is fine.

Vaccines unfortunately have controversy surrounding them, get more so in prepandemic years. Making an informed decision is always a good start, but using a variety of sources is a great idea. I too have vaccine concerns.

If you want to travel you currently need a negative COVID test or to quarantine for a specific number of days for travel to many countries. Especially those countries or states/providences who do not have a COVID “problem “. Even Hawaii requires a negative test to travel to the islands.

Here is a place to see how your part of the world is doing with recent cases. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/. John Hopkins also has a good site with lots of information.

Mart, we don't have the time nor the patience to have you sick and off the forum. Stay healthy, please!

I won't be taking it either. I am not an anti vaxer but I am not convinced there is a necessity for this vaccine either. if a person feels otherwise and is standing in line for it thats okay too. I am just saying there are plenty of red flag questions for it.

Carolyn, I'm so sorry that the cousin died. There are so many variables, several vaccines, and the efficacy has not been proven. For those of us who can isolate, we can choose. For those who work in health care, the choice can be made for them.
May we all, ALL, stay safe and healthy.

Carolyn I am so sorry about this family member's cousin!

And isn't it possible that you have already had covid-19?

My son, who works at the local hospital is excited about getting his COVID vaccine. He hasn’t been supportive of the flu shots due to their lack of effectiveness so I was surprised. We’ve discussed the data, ingredients surrounding different vaccines and personal experiences numerous times. Personally I have had reservations.

This new vaccine is a real breakthrough from what he explained to me. Unlike the old vaccines it does not use a dead virus. It might be of interest to research it more if you are interested. They are using mRNA from the virus and there is hope that this totally new process will even provide a vaccine for Ebola and SARS which are deadly with no cures and no vaccines despite years of research. I was comforted to hear the heavy metals used in old vaccines was also absent.

We’ve had friends loose an adult child and one acquaintance that was only asymptotic being a long hauler with neurological and cognitive damage. Even with that I didn’t think I’d be interested in a vaccine until I started researching this new vaccine. I really enjoy isolation with my family, gardening :like:and Zoom so figured I could live without it.
