You are completely correct, Cayu. Gosh, you practically speak dutch. Chuckle. I will tell you that we eat the fries with mayo here, not tomcat. Tonight the meal here at chateau sjoerd will be chicken schnitzel with spinach, fusilli with pepper sauce over them and the schnitzel. Chocolate pudding with whipped cream for pud. Jongens, I can hardly wait. Itis approaching tea time now, so its off to the kitchen to prepare the tea and bikkies. Creatures of habit we are. Ahhh...but now first— time for exercise program, come on!
We may not be having dinner tonight. You know how one project leads to another and another and another, each time the projects getting bigger? We'll this morning, I started it all by cleaning out our main silverware drawer. That went fine.It looks great now. But that lead to polishing the silver.. And so on...and so on...And has ended with the discovery that our kitchen sink has been leaking below where there is a heat blower to heat the kitchen. So... Water is now off, heater power off, the guts of the faucet unit are splayed across the kitchen. And my husband is groaning. I gotta get back to lend him a hand.

Sj, yes it is bad timing but i don't know when it would be good timing! Kitchen is now back to rights, kitchen water and heat is turned off, problem diagnosed and the part has been ordered. Our dishwasher is still operational so that is good. We'll just be getting jugs of water from the upstairs bathroom until the replacement part comes in. Not nearly as bad as I thought!
Whew! That’s good news...sorta. Stable at any rate. I wonder what the turnaround time on that part order is. Well, it looks like you will be eating tonight after all eh? P.s. well, the bad timing could be better when covid is no longer a threat for instance.
Can`t remember who asked about the cauliflower pizza crust,, but I am sticking with traditional ! Of course I didn`t follow directions but no matter,, it just wasn`t pizza ! However the mix I used with a few additions made wonderful fritters ! Had them with smothered pork chops !
We helped the suffering economy by ordering out Chinese food. Beef chow fun, mixed braised vegetables and hubby had duck with veg soup. Delicious and very filling!
Sounds great cuatros. We've been doing the same: ordering take out from favorite restaurants maybe every 2 weeks or so. That's about how often we used to eat out.
We ate simply but deliciously: We made some of those delicious meatballs with the secret recipe. I got to mix and form the balls under the the watchful and instructive eye of my Bride. These may look like balls, but they are not round in that sense. I offered to stick them under my arm and mash them flat. Flat balls then. The Bride was happy with them and I told her if she liked them she ought to see how I make donuts. I’m afraid the humour was lost on her. Anyhow, here’s the finished product—flatballs , butter-fried parsnip chips and runnerbeans. A little dab of cheese product just for the fun of it. The cheese was an idea, but not for repeating as it altered the flavour of the balls.
Sjoerd, your "simple" meal looks delicious, as always! Chef Mario Battaglia once said, "If you put cheese on it, an American will eat anything." I think he was right. Americans, and especially Texans, would drown your lovely meat balls in cheese.
