New friend--Carolina Wren

    Over the weekend two of these showed up at the suet feeders. At first we thought they were Bewick's Wrens, then my husband took a photo and we got a better look.
    We hadn't had Carolinas show up this year, so we were glad to get reacquainted!

    Wrens are such lovely little birds. I'm always happy when I see one in our garden.

    They are regulars around here ! Never know where they may build a nest ! Once it was in an old motorcycle helmet hanging in the garage ! Think its still there !

    Our wrens have been very profligate with the safflower seed. They station themselves on the tray and proceed to throw it all about. For e l-o-n-g minutes at a time! Maybe @Kildale knows something about this behavior . Next time instead of rapping on the window, I'll time the little buggers .
