Nice to see but not too happy it's around.. It just perched in this tree for a while, till I got some pictures, then it left.

Our Sparrow Hawk does the same thing. It sits in the trees watching the bird feeders in the hope of catching a small bird unawares. I don't like to see it taking birds from the garden but I suppose it has to eat too. I just wish it wasn't doing it where I could see!!

    Great shot!
We just had a hawk discover our bird feeder and now the birds are scared.

Amazingly, we have never had a hawk near our bird feeders! Two are too close to the house (perhaps) and one is right under a tree and the hawk wouldn't have a clear flight path.
We frequently have hawks perched on top of the pasture trees and they are welcome to all the field mice and voles they want!

Just back from the lottie and as luck would have it, we saw a small falcon type first hovering over our neighbour’s plot and then it went up onto the train structure and sat for a long while.
