I have not been offered a vaccine as yet..Country has problems with supply. My dilemma... because I have an auto immune disease that causes me to make anti bodies..meaning the vaccine might make me very ill..or it might not....Great post...thank you.

We've both had our vaccines. Ian had the Pfizer and I had the Oxford/AZ one. No side effects whatsoever with either one. We still wear masks when we are out - not just to protect ourselves but others too - and will continue to do so until this pandemic is under control.

Masks are compulsory eileen and even in a car park before you step out of your vehicle masks have to be on we also are still on a curfew 18.00-6.00...except in an emergency, where you have to file a government form on your circumstance for being outside of your Property....

It is extremely responsible of everyone who wears a mask, even after getting vaccinated - As it show you care for others.

Now if everyone thought like that, this pandemic would have been over within a month and a half. But alas, not everyone is as responsible...

Anyway the purpose of this thread is to assist anyone who is considering getting vaccinated - Make, them make an informed decision.

We need to keep people from getting near us..somehow, as that is how it has mostly spread, masks are essential but can give people a false sense of safety. I notice in our Supermarkets the general use should be shopping...but it has always been a meeting up of people like they are long lost relatives and that causes the trolley blockages of the isles as well, the closeness of these people is something to be seen as stupidity.

One good thing about the pandemic, is that nearly all supermarkets here set up their own pages on social media, as well as on mobile massaging apos - And so encouraged everyone to stay at home, and order whatever they needed online.

So thanks to modern technology, they not only saved their own staffers from exposure - But surprisingly, this created new employment too. As they now needed someone to deliver the goods.

But unfortunately, this isn't possible everywhere in the world. Which is why whenever the pandemic is about to be controlled in one area. Infection moves in from another portion of the world.... So it's a never ending tug of war going on these days. But hopefully, availability of vaccines might shift the balance in humanity's favor.

We can order online for the supermarkets also, you generally collect at a given time at a different entrance to the main doors...My Twin Son had to Covid19 just before Xmas and is still off work feeling unwell..He is receiving physiotherapy of a type aimed at the feel good factors..not sure how that is helping. He has had a brain scan and a chest scan and all good news there... He is a bus driver and obviously quite a high risk to Covid19 from all his passengers....They should have stopped the travelling much sooner, along with quite a list of no goes... but hindsight is a wonderful thing...

This is the general attitude (regarding COVID-19) of nearly all governments and people in authority - All across the globe...

Yes, I guess we also need to respect every individual's choice.

I've got a friend who's mother is in her late 80s. But she is healthy and active. And her mind is still as sharp it always was. She is also a retired doctor.

So when given the choice, she also opted not to get the vaccine... It sure surprised everyone, but like it or not, that's her choice - She says that the vaccine's long term effects are not yet fully documented. Therefore she would rather continue with the precautions. Instead of taking the rick at her age.

Realizing that I am part of a generation that was the Guinea pig for multiple experimental vaccines like tuberculosis, smallpox (well maybe not this one?), mumps, measles etc. with no longitudinal studies I figured “why not be part of another experimental cohort”. Unlike older relatives that suffered from one or more of the almost extinct diseases, I live in an area where they are unheard of. Just adding my bit for science by getting the vaccine.

I do think we have to respect others opinions. I do entirely. I have to say I have never felt comfortable with even having my beloved Cats having this vaccine yearly, especially if just a need to go in a Holiday Home , science says yearly jabs for most is completely over the top..suggestions of nearer to 3 years...
https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/are-booster-vaccines-necessary-for-cats#:~:text=Primary vaccination is essential in,to the majority of cats.
I am not saying that is the same for people though. I would 100% have this vaccine against Covid19 to hopefully protect me and others..but having an auto immune disease is obviously making me think think long and hard....

I had the Moderna vac. No problems at all ! No more than a flu shot ! I do not have time to be sick so if there is a vaccine to keep from getting anything,,, I am going to take it !

We had our second Pfizer jab this evening.

I think this will become an annual event for many, like the flu jab.
