    Sadly the Duke of Edinburgh has passed away, i liked him he was funny at times.

    I just saw that on the local news. He was 99 and had a good life.

    Sincere condolences to all you Brits. I am sure that the Queen will be swamped with condolences and well-wishes.
    I had not heard that on the breakfast news this morning.

    @Sjoerd i only seen it this morning at around 12. 15. I was watching YouTube and switched it over to BBC one and they were saying then. Hadn't heard anything before then. There's going to be special programme today sometime.

    There has always been some sort of relationship between our two Royal families, so I expect to see specials here as well.

    The queen relied on him a lot and i think that she will step down but they say that she'll carry on.
    The BBC and channel 4 has stopped all their programmes and showing the Duke of Edinburgh special.

    You had to admire him for "doing his own thing." He really didn't care what other people thought. I don't think he did anyone any harm. Shame that such a "man's man" had a wimp as an eldest son.
