Hello everyone, I am Luna. I’ve always had an interest in growing my own flowers. I just didn’t have the time to start a small flower garden until now. I am really excited! But in need of guidance . I ordered a good amount of Dahlia tubers, (I should have thought this through more ) because now I have too many my mistake ! I’ve planted them in nursery pots to pre sprout them, (according to my internet research thats the easiest way to begin) I am open to all of your wonderful guidance! I love flowers and I’m understanding it’s a lot of work but I’m willing to do everything.

I have a question, I’ve notice tiny flies in my soil, and I’ve read it’s not a good thing. Some of my Dahlias have started to sprout and I’m afraid if I put anything in the soil to kill the flies and eggs they leave, it will affect my Dahlias. Any advice on what I can do before this becomes into a really big problem, thanks again !

Just water the dahlias if they get too dry. There are loads of creatures in my garden. I am not usually bothered by these kind of things.

Are you growing them indoors now? I think you said you were in your first posting. Don't worry about the gnats. They are likely eating the organic matter in your pouring soil. You plan on planting them outdoors, right? The gnats will be dealt with outside.

BTW, I just started my tubors inside too. Fingers crossed. It's a great way to get a jump on the season

Cayu do you mean that you are chitting your spuds, or that you are starting your dahlia’s inside?
