    Leonotis is in full bloom now.

    He looks like velvet and what an orange.

    The wild dagga is widely used in traditional medicine to treat fevers, headaches, coughs, dysentery and many other conditions. It is also used as a remedy for snake bite and as a charm to keep snakes away.

    Very beautiful some of the old folks actually called the snake runners.

    I do love that plant.We have a plant that grows wild here it reminds me of that one but it is a light purple.I haven't seen it lately so I guess it blooms earlier .I'll have to take a picture of it and see if you all can ID it.I do like that orange.

    I would say yes. It's hardy zone 8-11. It's a native of South Africa. 8)

    I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it - lovely. I thought it was blooming *now* and was quite surprised, but then realized this was back in October. Still a very pretty coloring for fall.
