Seems to have drifted East, and hit land in India. But it can still bounce back out, regain it's strength, then hit us next... But for now it doesn't look like it's going to.

    Arrow shows my location.

This one has passed, it is causing havock in India. But now it is extremely unlikely that it will come here.

But the next one about to start in the ocean, is once more causing alarm.

Climate change is real guys, it's not a hoax... This kind of weather in my part of the world was completely unheard of in the past - You people remember, a little over 10 years ago when I joined GardenStew. How I use to complain that it doesn't rain here for years and years.

Now every year we get a monsoon downpour unlike anything we expected before...

As everyone can see from the latest weather satellite image (infrared) - This cyclone has hit land in India, (pointed out by the yellow-orang arrow). My location is pointed out by the green arrow. While the pink arrow points to a remnant of this cyclone. Which has now sperated, and might become a new cyclone.

Climate change is definitely real, it changes cyclically mostly due to solar activity. We may well be entering a cooling trend. The myth is accelerated global warming. I would be interested if other gardeners are also having, like me colder than normal temperatures for this time of the year.

Even in north Texas we used to have real winter several years ago.
In 1987 we bought this house in March with bone chilling weather on moving day and for many winters after then,we also had what the weather men on TV called the Siberian Express, really cold air coming up over the north pole from Siberia and some years swooping down as far south as the Gulf of Mexico. But over time those cold weather events became fewer and fewer and then stopped completely Winter weather is almost non-existent here now, I have a lightweight jacket but have not needed to wear it in years. We have central heating in our house but it is very seldom used...but the central Air conditioner unit is on almost year round.

From 1987 I too (as a kid) noticed that every year after that, became a little bit extra hot.

Before and then right there up to 87, if it would be very hot outside, you just go into the shadow of a building or get under the shade of thick tree - And everything would become fine again. You'd stop burning.

But after 87 however, it started to make little difference if you were in direct sunlight or in shade - You'd still feel like somebody had opened the oven next to where you are standing. Or lit up a blowtorch in the direction of your face just an arm's length away.

In my childhood, I never witnessed an air-conditioner explode, (literally exploding like a bomb). But it has happened twice to the ACs of different cars in my use. And once to the split AC in my home. And each year, I hear at least a dozen times, stories from other people. Regarding how their AC exploded.

In my early childhood, (late 70s and early 80s), I remember people turning their AC down when the room had cooled down enough. As it would have become too cold if they kept it running like that.

Now people turn their ACs down to a lower setting out of fear... Fear of getting a big fat electricity bill. Or fear that the AC might explode.

    :frustrated:

I wish shade was that nice here. In the summer our prevailing winds are from the south....bringing high humidity from the Gulf of Mexico. Return of
Autumn and then whatever Winter we get means the prevailing winds are from the north and feel so much better....but it has to be strong north winds or the humid southern winds will win. Our central air conditioning system has to be augmented for us by window air conditioners at night.
Oh, and in our summers there is no such thing as too much cool air in the house.

I grew up in Africa and I think I ended up settling in this corner of the Pyrenees because it reminds me of Africa. The feeling not the Temperature. My German wife complains in summer, but I find the heat agreeable. The Temperature rarely gets above 37 degrees in the summer. The same temperature as my blood so I find it comfortable, except when there is high humidity then even 25 degrees feels oppressive.

Well guys, it's the same here, only sightly worse... Answer of course is simple, which is to stop all water and atmospheric pollution at once!.

However this requires political will - Which no politician anywhere has the guts to do, (as they all shamelessly take bribes from all major polluters, in the name of donations for their political rallies and campaigns). So next they say that either climate change is a hoax, or say that it's still too early to say for sure. Or not enough data is available.

Yeah, I'm starting to get a little bit more roasted here with each new year. But they of course say that not enough data is available...

Maybe, just maybe, had all world leaders gotten together and done something about the environment - And if this had taken place by the year 2000, then perhaps there could be some hope to reverse this damage. But right now the date is 2021, and I fear that we may have started our unrecoverable nosedive into oblivion...

Yes I blame politicians for everything. Go anywhere in the world, and nowhere will you find any citizen speak about them favorably. Nearly everyone everywhere is disappointed - There is an old saying in my part of the world. That prostitution is the world's oldest profession. Then thievery. Politicians came in 3rd. But only because it would take both a prostitute and a thief, to get together and produce a politician.

No more needs to be said, about who to blame for all of this...
