I found a Merlot wine that I liked a few years ago but was not able to locate the year that I liked. I tried another year of the same wine but, it was not the same. I decided to move on... until suggestions were made to drink merlot wines with pork tenderloin in the thread whats for dinner:

Anyone care to suggest a specific Australian Merlots (please give the year!!!).

    Thanks in advance, Luis

Lets see,, you are in the DFW area so I would find a wine store that can help you match the one you like to what is currently available ! Some years are better than others but there should be no major differences ! Just keep in mind that what you are eating with the wine can affect the taste ! May not taste the same if you were eating a pork loin originally and tried the same wine with a more robust Ribeye steak or T-Bone and salad ! I prefer the Shiraz !

Thanks, mart. Any specific recommendations from the lands of Barossa, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills (Southern Australia)?

I only buy local wine. Either cote du Roussillon or Spanish local wine.

I do not remember which area but it was purchased by a friend and given to me as a gift ! I do remember that he purchased it at Tom Thumb somewhere in the Dallas area ! He said they usually have good prices on wines !
Try looking up the one you liked on the internet,,usually below that you can find a list of comparable wines ! May give you an idea of what to look for in similar wines !
