My dear husband has been picking garden vegetables while my knee heals. I mentioned today that I need to get out and harvest herbs.
He told me he didn't know how to cut herbs, and he certainly didn't want to learn. His gardening efforts go so far and no farther.

Logan, I don't know. If I did know what I did to my knee, I surely wouldn't do it again!
It's better now, and tomorrow I'll go out and harvest herbs to freeze and dry, and can the tomatoes my dear husband picked. He does know how to pick tomatoes!;)

Your husband isn't alone Jane. Mine wouldn't know a herb unless it came with a name tag. He swears he doesn't know what a weed looks like either. I have a feeling he's just not keen on gardening - apart from mowing the lawn.

What is this now?! I thought that there was no longer a problem with that knee of yours, now I read this. What the heck is going on? You’d better give that knee a bit more time before standing on your feet all that time whilst you process those toms and herbs.

I have one knee that goes berserk ocassionally ! Go to dollar general and get one of those elastic knee braces ( less than 5 bucks and worth it),, it will keep it aligned until it heals !

Ahhh, bless your hearts! My knee is getting much better--just a bit sore, and if I sit for a few minutes I'm back up and functioning.
Mart, I have a knee brace (actually my husband's on loan to me) and for the first two days it helped a lot. I haven't had to use it today and I think I can give it back to him tomorrow.
    Y'all are so kind!

That's great to hear @marlingardener but if it keeps playing up it would be best to get it checked out.

I don't allow my husband in my gardens. He doesn't know a dandelion from basil, and he really shows no interest anyway.
If I need something picked, I think I might be able to send my daughter out for it, although she really shows no interest either unless its about harvesting cucumbers.
My 3 year old grandson on the other hand ... I think I would trust him the most!

This morning I harvested herbs, and my husband kept his distance. He didn't want to see how it is done, nor learn to harvest herbs!
The basil is rampant, the Genovese basil with the large leaves. Lots of parsley, which is unusual for this time of summer. Usually it is gone, perishing in the heat.
Marjoram and thyme are thriving, and I cut some thick rosemary stems to use for shish-kabob spears with the chicken tonight.
I hope everyone is harvesting and enjoying herbs!

    Glad the knee is better.
My hubby has made it perfectly clear that he will build anything I need or want for the garden (especially if it requires adding tools to his already great collection) and take me garden center shopping to my hearts content, but he will not work in the garden. He got to give away the lawn mower a few years ago when I pulled up all the grass around the house and started the gardens.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I think I played the "sympathy game" to the hilt with my husband! Bless him, he took care of everything, and now I'm back and able, I'm trying to make the past week up to him. But he still doesn't want to learn anything about herbs!
