    My life is a constant battle between wanting to correct grammatical mistakes, and wanting to have friends . . . .

    Roaring with laughter—my Bride can relate to that. She cackled when I read your posting to her, saying, “yeah, yeah”.

    I went to an old fashioned grammar school, where grammar and spelling were considered important.

    I learned early on that, "a preposition was something you shouldn't end a sentence with."

    Our English master (the teachers wore gowns) expected us individually on occasions, to stand up in front of the class and give a short talk on a subject in which we had an interest. The inclusion of "ums" errs" or hand gestures, was discouraged by having a board rubber lobbed at you, if you dared include them.
    I feel like doing that with most of the presenters I see on TV.

    However, "I've been reliably informed," that when it comes to message boards, the sites are configured to sometimes add a random "typo" or spelling mistake, between, "preview post" and "post reply."

    As I have gotten older, I find myself more prone to inadvertently making spelling and occasional grammatical errors that I would never knowingly make.

    Ironically, at the same time I am increasingly bothered by others making those same mistakes.

    Does not compute...

    My guatamalan high school junior hired as summer helper.....

    "hey fernan said if you can order more blades."

    Me:

    The correct way to say that is "Hey, Fernan asked if you can order more blades." I believe the way you posed your grammar makes the reader wait for further information, such as a subject. For example, using your own sentence for fun;

    "hey fernan said if you can order more blades we can fend off these aliens trying to get the hot dogs out of the refridgerator."

    I am terrible but I try.
