No more home renovation for me. I am trying to locate someone who can renovate a deck. So far, no luck. But I definitely don't want to do it.

I feel you! I don't want to even think about another project for a very long time.

Yes, there's six months' worth of work here. How long have you been doing repairs?

Hi Tuskgg! We started in 2017. Almost there now, just a few bits and pieces left. Then we can take it easy and concentrate on garden and other things for a few years.

If I were you, I'd leave it to professionals. I understand that you'll have to pay for it, but this way you get the right visual model and it takes a lot less time than if you're trying to do it yourself. I contacted the firm boutiquehomeplans.com, I'm satisfied with the result. I also had power outages all the time, so I put myself a synchronous type generator. I had a little problem how to put it in a new house, after all, the generator isn`t the most aesthetic thing in any house so it was important to hide it. They solved my problem.

Oh @Tuskgg, as I have written further up this thread we didn't do much ourselves bar tear down a couple of walls, an old closet, and some wallpaper. Then, after the professionals were done, we fixed and sanded the walls, put up wallpaper, and painted the house both inside and outside. Yes, it cost a lot. And yes, it was well worth it. The rules and regulations are pretty tough here in Norway, and we wouldn't dare touch anything electric or things that have water running through them. Not to mention the bathrooms.

Trying to live a normal life in the middle of a renovation project is something I won't do again if I have any say in it.
