I pruned another apple tree. Three more to go, then it's done for the winter. I also pruned the raspberry and blackberry brambles. Cut out all of the canes that fruited last year, and shortened the canes that will bear this year. I also dug out six clumps of blackberries that made almost no fruit, having given those varieties a six year trial.

The blackberries don't need weeding. The raspberries do. Another day.

Hopefully I can start to do a few things next week after Monday, but no heavy lifting for another 2 weeks and all depends on the weather.

As it was a bit warmer today I gave the big patio a go with "Wet n' Forget."

I've a 5ltr Hoselock pump spray, which I had to give a good clean through first, as it hadn't been used in a year.

It's been a nice afternoon so cut some more leaves off the hellebores, haven't finished them all as yet.

@Logan, I bet it's nice to get back out into the garden.

Today I pruned another apple tree. Two remaining. I'll hold off the figs until Spring, and the stone fruits until they bloom.

I need a back rub. The weed battle in the yard started in earnest today. I have a 48 inch riding mower that I enjoy more than I realized after going over my yard 2x in offset directions with the push spreader. I sprayed monkey grass and everything within reason and tilled lime and some fertilizer into the garden. The leaves are breaking down well. Heavy rain coming so no planting.

@Dirtmechanic, since you enjoy your riding mower, you can come over to my place now and do the same. :)

Nope! My new years resolution was to only use those new remote controlled robotic mowers when cutting grass for a friend- if they own one!

@Daniel W yes I'm so pleased to do some gardening with the mild weather and my eye, can't do any heavy lifting for 2 more weeks so have to leave the mulching for a while.

They're doing well thank you Sjoerd, still can see floaters but only in bright light or if I look into the sky. They don't feel irritated anymore and I've finished the eye drops.
