Arethusa Falls, a beautiful waterfall near Jackson NH. It is a short hike, just 3 miles out and back and the waterfalls are just gorgeous. It is a 170 foot drop, the second tallest in New Hampshire. PXL_20220506_191433792.MP_compress99.jpg PXL_20220506_181121918.MP_compress66.jpg
See that arrow? At times it was a steep climb!

I look as tall as my husband here, don't I? Ha!

A great day. We hope to go back this winter & see the hearty intrepid hikers ice pick their way up those falls.

This looks beautiful. Wonderful photo of you both. Little cool for a dip, but I would think it was a wee bit tempting after such a steep climb. :) Very very lovely.

Thank you Cayuga. I feel very fortuneate to live where I do. These falls are about 2 km away, and a gentle hike about 15 min in. When the water is high, as it is starting to be now with snow melt, I can hear them roaring in the distance from the deck . At low water, there is a "goat trail" down to the bottom of the first one you see in the photo with amazing fly fishing. The way back up is a little daunting so I don't go as often as I once did.

What a nice hike that was. You chose some good pics to show us. I can imagine that the falls are also impressive to see when frozen in wintertime…and the folks climbing them.

I liked the looks of that trail, it reminded me of some trails in New Zeeland. The foto of you two is super.

Thanks for showing us the NH trail. It looks challenging and beautiful.

Lovely photos. Thanks for sharing them. Nature is certainly wonderful. I realized I'm not noticing waterfalls enough and shall have to remedy that.

Thanks all! It was a great day. We spent the night at an inn; we had our own cabin so felt very safe (covid wise). And the next day, we took another hike. A really nice trip.

@Melody Mc. would you mind posting pics of your waterfall the next time your do that hike? I'd love to see more photos. How fortunate are you to live so close to such a beautiful falls.
