So far I have 50-odd mittens made from old sweaters. These are for a retreat for women with cancer. The retreat usually is in the fall; this year is in July! Woolen mittens in July?? Oh well. I think the ladies will be pleased.

I put tags on them with washing instructions, sizes, etc. And then I just began naming them. It's very corny but I'm having fun.

    Here's The Pomeranian

And here is The Newspaper: Black & White & Read (Red) All Over (remember that joke when we were kids?) PXL_20220630_114904421.MP_compress88.jpg

    These are The Nordic:

And here is Cashmere Cat, they are cashmere inside & out, very soft.

Cayuga, that is so sweet, generous, and artistic! Love the look of your mittens, and I bet they feel even better.

You're a good person! I like all the mittens, and am pleased you have Selbu-pattern-ish mittens there as well. Love the name-idea. The ability of finding some fun in everyday chores is a gift! Must admit I looked for Bernie-mittens, lol.

What a wonderful project…and the mittens are really quite attractive.
But I will tell you—the idea to name them is inspired. Inspired ánd amusing.
    You are a clever cloggs.
The name, “the Pomeranian”, makes me think of the sea shanty, “Don’t Forget The Pomeranian”.

    Well, I struck out.

This is the Pomeranian I was talking about, above. Looks like my mitten eh?

Oh, and thanks!! It's been fun making & naming them.

Cayuga Morning, What a splendid thing to do. The idea is grand, the product is beautiful. I love all of it. Makes me wonder how the heck you made them out of old sweaters.

That Pomeranian shanty I saw on “Escape To The Country”, series 20, episode 1.
Shanties are sung here in the harbour from time to time, but I have never heard that one.

You are right—those mittens do look like the foto of that feisty little Pomeranian.

Mel said it all, didn’t she.

@waretrop I can send you the pattern if you want.
Old wool & cashmere sweaters are best. Acrylics aren't so warm & pill more.
