We have had a tremendous amount of Grosbeaks and Purple Finches this year, in addition to the others that come along. I'm not sure if it is because the spring was so long and cold, but they hung around for quite some time.

The robins would begin to sing in the day ( which felt like yelling) at about 3:30 am, and when they were satisfied that they had welcomed dawn long enough they would quiet down for some worming. At about 4;15 am the grosbeaks would come to the feeders and sing and chirp ( also sounds a bit like yelling at that hour) until tummies were full. Then the purple finches would have a bash at the feeders, until the pine siskins were ready for their turn.

It's probably the most bird seed we have ever gone through, but we are very happy to have them.

This year however, they also began to eat my apple blossoms. That has never happened before. Next year I will be more prepared with some distractions in the trees.

    Waiting in the cue....

Awww, love your furry friends and their queue mentality. (Why do you spell queue like that and not just plain and simple Q?)

I don't know Y Droopy....do U? hee hee hee . We have weird spellings here in Canada, some french based, some old english, some British and some American English. I will never leave out an "our" (behaviour) unless I have to....auto correct and I fight a lot hahahaha

It could very well be....or the Friendly Giant and his pal Rusty the Rooster.

We had a lot of different birds before the state used airplane spray companies to rid the area of those stink bugs. They were threatening the hips crops. It got rid of the stink bugs and everything else. That was 4 years ago. Slowly the birds are coming back butterflies, bats , and dragonflies. Of course even the yellow jackets are back…

Melody Mc.. great pics of the birds… we had many of the same…
