Every late summer/early fall the Beavers get busy in the creek. They are the eternal optomists, trying to build dams in a creek that rages and swells every spring. The dams don't stand a chance at spring freshet - but this process ensures them access to the water under the ice, and food in the winter. They will sink branches in the pond that they create for winter feeding. Right now they are carrying mud and sticks to their lodge to get it ready for winter. My son in law and daughter set up a critter cam to catch them. I've sifted through 500 still shots over a two night period. They are primarily nocturnal. When they carry the mud to their lodge, they walk on their hind legs using thier tail as a stabalizer. (** The kids put in new batteries but didn't reset the time/date stamp - so that must be ignored ) The tail slaps from these guys when they want to scare something off echos off the mountain.
Cor, excellent Every time I take the batteries out of mine and try to reset the timestamp it keeps going back to the start menu
Oh Mel, those are great. It is like watching Autumnwatch on the telly. Full marks for these shots, meid.
