Today we lost Tinker. He was 17yrs 2months old and had become very poorly, so we took him to see the vet for some assistance.
His sister Lucky had a stroke last summer and we lost her then - (she was the blond one and Tinker was the little ginger pickle)
The house seems empty without them and we are both feeling sad. The photo was taken in November 2019

It's gonna take a long while to get used to not being followed everywhere :setf_050:

I really feel for you both. Our pets leave such a big hole in our lives when they pass. Try to think of all the good times you had together and the love they gave you over the years. Gradually you'll be able to smile at the memories although it will take a while.

Sorry to hear that. I can see they were well loved and they would have known that.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My heart is weeping for you both. That is a huge loss. My personal experience is when sibblings or a bonded pair leave...the hole in the heart is a wee bit bigger - if that is even possible. I have a placard on my special boys memory garden that reads " If love could have healed you, you would have lived forever." I'm sure your much loved pup would have lived forever if your love could have kept him. Gentle hugs to you both.

I am sad to see this post. We have one starting to struggle with her age and I feel your loss.

Thank you especially for this - where did you find it? I was nodding and agreeing with every word I read.
I cannot really imagine the house without dogs in it - especially after spending so long helping with the Yorkshire terrier rescue, but as Zigs is terribly allergic to animals (even though he loves them SO much) and I'm older than ancient, it is time for a break....... who knows what will turn up :whistling:

Thanks everyone for your comments, they help!!

So sorry for your loss, Tetters.
We always remember every one of our furry friends with a smile and a tear no matter how much time passes.
It's nice that you worked with a rescue.
Just remember that although you had them for just a part of your life, you gave them a loving life to the end.

When God takes one of our pets,,it means there is another out there that needs love !
We have several rescues and when we lose one somehow another finds us !! Love has no boundary !

    So sorry for your loss.
    I know how it feels.

All I can say is, as heartbreaking as it is to lose a loved one, that means you were very lucky, for a while, to have someone to love.

I never got over losing Charlie, 4 years ago. He was also 17. I couldn't live now without Rufus.

@Tetters and @Zigs so sorry for your loss, it takes a long time to get over it, but you both have the memories of them both.
