My seeds are a mess. They are all shoved in a plastic container, and there are so many that the lid doesn't close anymore. I knew it was time to do something about it! I went to Michaels yesterday and picked up a photo storage case! For those that aren't familiar with these, they are plastic cases with individual cases inside that are just the perfect size for seed packets. It sure made my seeds easier to find! I labelled each box and then filled them with seeds. They are waterproof and air tight. Each sort is now in its own case. No more spilled seeds! I decorated the front The best part is that the case has a handle! Now I can just grab it and go!
Oh boy to be as organized as you are Netty!! I do have my seed packets in an airtight plastic container but they are not labelled like yours. I just have to search through all the packs to get which one I want. Maybe it's time to make an investment.
I’m just going to say it outright—- that is the best seed organisation that I have ever seen. Mine are in their own ziplock bags with labels on the bags, but standing up in a sort of messy way in the seed box. I really admire what you’ve done. My Bride really liked your system!
That's a fantastic solution! I'm not bothered with lots of seed around since I'm useless at sowing, but if I ever get a hang of it I'm going to use your idea.
Its amazing the difference having this case has already made. My seeds never used to get 'put away' because it was hard to find a spot to hold the old plastic container that didn't close. Seeds were always spilling out of their packages, packages falling out, and it took a while to find the seeds when I was trying to plant. Now, I know exactly where things are and planting is quick! And when I am done, I just close the case and it gets put away! It was definitely worth the $20! (It was also a good excuse to pull out my Cricut machine to decorate it )

Mine is in all kind of containers tucked in a corner in the fridge. Sometimes I bought what I already I had because it is a big mess. Netty yours is so organised and disciplined. For me if I were to do that I think it will get messy after awhile.
I have heard of using photo storage case before but I still use a sterilite container with handmade dividers and index cards separating the varieties. Keeps me organized for now
Not really storage, but I stopped by the local community garden today and offered left-over seeds. The seeds were for vegetables that could be planted now. Oh, the joy! I was happy, the gardeners were happy, and I think the seeds will be happy having a good home. I kept back a few for the fall garden, but the extras were offered, and accepted gladly.
Sorry @Clay_22 , just saw your comment! Each seed container holds about 25-30 seed packs, depending on the size of seeds. My 'greens' container has 24 packages in it right now and still has room, but I think beans and larger seeds would take less.
