Nice tank. I used to indulge in the hobby. I was big in to Cichlids then went community with various tetras and such. Then broke it all down several years ago.

Thanks i backed it up with a Fluval U4 behind the silk plant drop.
Cichlids are beautiful, i have 2 females in the blue and one male and the one female keeps attacking them, tried to remove her but she plays about as the wood contains quite a few tunnels.

I used to have three 5L's on the good with a Roma 200 but shut down the small ones.

Shame you had to break it down.:(

Yeah it is @Gail-Steman but after 30 plus years and with the local pet shops going under under due to the chain stores and their lack of selection it wasn't as fun anymore.

Your right on that score, when my hubby fetches my locusts for my gecko he's looks around their aquarium and he said harlequins, neons are all fry they're selling and fry have a game of adjusting so they will be ripped off.

My Hillstream are giving me young lol

Cor Gail— that turned out nicely, didn’t it. What a nice balance you have. I enjoyed your vid so much. It is a hobby that still is a calming thing to behold.
Are you planning to remove the angelfish before they produce young?

Yeah, you really did do a great job with your tank. It looks so clean and fresh. Thanks for showing it. It is great to see an update.

BTW— I am over the moon to see you back on here again.

Hi Sjoerd, the female which is the yellow with black lines is being bloody awkward although her papilla is showing and she's heavy, she keeps going from the sump to the canister to the right side of the glass, if they lay eggs they will be syringed out ;) at the moment i have young hillstream loach maturing.

Since asking your advice it's my 8th tank and it's been great chatting with you :)
Thanks you :like: you should take it up as it's a beautiful hobby but needs proper dedication ;)

Well Gail, i really did enjoy keeping fish but now, I do not know so much about the hobby anymore. Having said that, I can really enjoy looking at and talking about other peoples’ fish. I am so glad that the hobby worked out for you and that you seem so good at it.
I have looked at your vid several times.

Sjoerd was growing Cultured moss in there and did have live plants in the wood treated with Alum to get rid of snail eggs and they was doing well and kept to 8hrs light and because 4 nights i slept over in the chair till 9pm, brown algae developed on the plants first, then spread to my moss balls i used to make, so stripped the plants out and did it as it is now without.
My tank with the oxygen and pressure to fish resembles a rain storm coming so my 20 cory's breed daily and had young from them and gave them to our local pet shop and now have young Hillstream loaches which are hard to breed in an home enviroment but they're rare and cost from £10 each to £14-99 but i do have a Fluval U4 and external Fluval 307 canister going that covers the volume again of my tank.

Here's my canister and tell me if i'm doing your head in as i won't take offense.

I am impressed, Gail. You are much more professionally set-up than my dad or I was. pretty cool that you can give your extra fish to the pet shop. Mate, they must be delighted to see you walk through the door of their shop.
yeah, your set-up looks really good.

Gail, looking at your video of your aquarium bring back lots of memories of my younger days. It is a very nice hobby and I can sit in front of the aquarium and watch the fishes all day. Your aquarium is so beautiful. I love it.
