Mates, my beloved garden shoes had a hole in the sole large enough to pass my index finger through. After enduring weeks of cajoling, fun- making and finally sarcastic insults…I relented and bought a new pair. I am retaining my old pair in the garden shed just in case breaking them in leads to foot pain and/or blisters.

(Drum roll please) Annnnnnnd here they are:

These shoes were made for working.

They are made to look like and replace the wooden shoe. I can tell you — they are way more comfortable. The real colour is dark blue, almost black. I guess the sunlight and poor camera misrepresent them.

Ach, they ought to be good for another ten years, don’tcha reckon?

They look great Sjoerd and they should last for a long time. I use my old shoes that i walk the boys with for gardening, they're very comfortable.

I've nothing against clogs but those new shoes really look sooo comfy and much easier to walk in. Let's hope they last as long as the old ones did.

My puppy loved to chew ours so we both got new sets ourselves this year! Nice choice!

Ta Loggie. Yes, Mine are comfy too and I wear them places I perhaps shouldn’t. I can completely understand you wearing yours to walk the boys. I wear mine for park strolls.

Eileen—I hope they will too. They always start out hard, but once broken-in….ahhh, comfy.

DM—I hope they will be good for your feet. One just never knows beforehand.

You have me lookin on line while I'm dancing Sjoerd. I've been thinking for a long time that this is my destiny for morning gardening. Man....there is a lot of choices out there. Can I ask what brand those are? Tried and true - I'll try to find them :)

Mel—The brand of them is Gardy.
Of course you can order them; however, there is nothing safer than actually trying them on before buying.

You may enjoy looking at this thread from out of the past: https://www.gardenstew.com/threads/if-the-shoe-fits.14281/

Since that old posting my Bride has newer shoes. I may have a look at her shoes today and ask her which the most comfortable is.

While my Gardy shoes are like dreamboats to wear, I still use innersoles from sheep wool or gel…just for that little bit of extra comfort.
