Gosh @Logan that is scarily nippy!!

The sun is dodging in and out of the clouds but thankfully still relatively mild here, currently 18C.

Orieti I forgot to ask if you bring in your dahlias inside over the winter or pop a layer of hay as a cage around them to prevent from freezing and rain . Curious what US planting zone the UK is in?

Hi @Pacnorwest , I leave them all in situ ....but...if I have been able to accidentally ;) knock a bit of tuber off from a plant then I nurture it undercover for the 1st Winter. I also still have couple in pots so they will go into the greenhouse too, hopefully I'll find them their ' forever homes' in a border next Spring:fingerscrossed:.
Our zone here on the south coast is 8b/ 9a

It's now overcast and we have rain on the horizon for later on......which we are in need of. However it's a shame as tonight we are to have a Blue Moon but now very unlikely to see it. This morning we had a very orangey sky first thing said to have been caused by the wild fires from North America.

No worries @Logan, I'm no more depressed at the thought of the approaching Winter than most people if you ask them.:(
Forgive me if I'm wrong but I seem to recall you sayIng that you don't have a set of outdoor furniture because you never sit out in your garden, we literally live all day out in ours when at home during the Spring and Summer...so the thought of not being able to is not something we look forward to very much. We're not indoorsy people really I suppose.:)

Lovely sunny start to our day, the promised and much needed rain never materialised last night.

You're right we don't sit outside at all, if it's sunny I'd rather be inside and don't like the heat, but some people do like it.:)

Oreti thanks for getting back to my zone questions. Your zone 8b is same. Except we do get snow and ice storms. The past few days internet has been wacky , off and on due to the storms. Many of the plants we have in our gardens are same of similar.

Weather has changed drastically a lot cooler strange happening for August. We may break a record for the coolest weather in August.
