    Our Marie Pavie is in full bloom. She is such a good shrub rose! Nothing seems to set her back, neither heat nor cold. She is not susceptible to black spot, doesn't need dead-heading, blooms almost constantly for months, and doesn't require any sort of coddling. Here she is in mid-April:

    Ough !! I just looked up Marie Pavie Rose and it was introduced in 1888. Now, I have a house built in 1898 so, that rose would be something that "could have been" planted in my garden when the house was much younger !! They're sold out on line but I will be hunting Marie down later this year !!
