DHR :smt044 great revenge … banking auto pay is a nightmare. I’m so tired of banks acting like our money is their’s until you hit the correct button on the keyboard. What a pain in the Caboose…:frustrated:

What is the difference between ignorance and indifference?
    I don't know and I don't care.

What's Irish and stays outside all year?

ThT would be great in the front yard! I want one!

But I don't want to be the one who moves it.

That would be me, on the left. LOL.

Who has a calculator any more? Besides me.
I like the keys that stick out and have a click feel, plus the bigger number display.

I've still got a calculator, I've had it for forty years. It's solar and about the size of a slice of bread. It still works, but I don't need it as there's one on my laptop.
My first "partly portable" calculator, you needed to plug it in, which was the size of a half-brick, was bought for me by my firm in the mid-seventies. All it would do was add, subtract, multiply and divide, it had no memory and cost over £100.

We weren't allowed to use calculators in School. :setc_077:

So, I add, subtract, multiply and divide,

sometimes on the same line in my checkbook. :p

In my day, there were no calculators you could use at school.
I've always been good at mental arithmetic. I can always add up my partners score on his golf card long before he's done mine, (mine are usually lower numbers).

Kids for decades have relied too much on calculators.

At work forty years ago, I remember, I went into the office of one of my stores and asked one of the girls if she'd got the figures I'd asked her for.
She produced a sheet of paper from her desk, on it there was a column of about a dozen figures, none of which were more than two figures.
I asked her to give me a total and she proceeded to use an adding machine.
I was standing in front of her desk and I added them up in my head.
I finished before she did and I was of course, reading them upside down.
