Can anyone tell what kind of fern this is? I thought, maybe a tree fern, resurrection fern? ( Fern that grows on and up trees, not the Aussie variety) but it looks different than the ferns that grow up my trees.

You've got different ferns to us Annie but it looks similar to our Common Polypody :) Leaves are a bit thinner though.

What baffles me is the very long pointy bit at the tip. That's not typical of most ferns, having a long "sword" growing at the tip. That tip leaf is usually the smallest???

I say start propagating it! And have a type of fern which not many will have! It is beautiful looking, is it not? So enjoy this gift from nature! :D

Anyway I use the Plant ID app on my phone. So it says that what we have here is a Pteris Vittata, or more commonly known as the Chinese Brake.

Wow !! That's nothing that grows here naturally !!
I bet that the hurricane that came right through my town last year brought some spores from somebody's fern to my foundation !! Thank you @S-H for that info.
