I know there was another crochet thread down below, but I feel like making one that is a little more inclusive to all genders as I know some amazing male crocheters around! I have been crocheting for about 9 years now, I started off with mostly blankets and potholders but I have moved on to more complicated things in the last 3 years and started what is called Amigirumi, which is basically stuffed animals. I have made it into a small side gig, I don't get much from it, but I do enjoy creating things!! Here a few things that I do! This is a shawl i finished recenty. Bob was so kind as to model for me. A few little friends!
Fantastic @Shawchert !! I knit alot during the Winter months, mostly small sized items now. I have made lots of fingerless gloves /snood sets. Toys, Christmas decorations, Flowers and always include a Winter charity project too....keeps me occupied during the long dark Winter evenings. I have attempted to learn how to Crochet many times but seem to fail miserably. I will however keep persevering
I truly envy knitters. You all have the patience of saints!! I do go to knitting club at my local library and they allow us crocheters to join. So I watch as they make these beautiful projects that take up so much time, but they are so worth it. One lady has made 3 christmas tree skirts in 2 years omg they are gorgeous, another does a lot of gloves and hats, and I got some of her slipper socks from the library action last year. I have not tried knitting, but mostly because I have a hard enough time using the one hand for crocheting let alone 2 for knitting lol. As a left-handed person I had to learn from youtube videos so I have been through so many tutorials on different stitches including how to hold my yarn and hook before I truly got it! Either way you at least have knitting down! and thanks @Logan ! I appreciate it!
