Good Wednesday morning all. Currently 16°C and overcast. There is a chance of rain today, but only about 40%.
I had a horrible work day yesterday, so I'm hoping today is better.
Bought the deck stain and so DD can get to work when the conditions are good.
I sold a few plants yesterday, and have a few more people coming today to purchase some. I think I'll have more on the weekend too.
I just need to get through a few more days of work and the weekend will be here
Have a great day all :)

Happy Tuesday, I haven't been on as I've been a bit busy. It's been nice up until yesterday and I had a lot of work to do. both inside and outside. Oof. I did get a bit done and planted a few things, which I neglected to take pictures of and now it's raining. So maybe when they establish themselves and don't look so sad from shock :). It's been a good week so far, though with the rain coming back I'm going to have to plan to find a day to mow again... I wish I could have a different type of lawn than a grass lawn :(

Today I took off early for the "Big Town" to hunt down a freezer. My fridge freezer is too full to hold anymore produce from the garden so I got a Frigidare 7 cubic foot upright freezer that converts to a fridge. $329 at Lowe's . I got a five year warrantee that, if I never have to use that warrantee, ( which covers parts and labor) I can get my money back as a Lowe's gift card !! How cool is that !!?
(Absolutely frozen I hope ) :p. They deliver to my town on Wednesdays so two weeks from today I'll have the freezer because they need to order it, none were on the floor. :p upload_2025-5-14_15-52-40.jpeg

@Anniekay that new freezer is a great idea. It can convert to a frig. I didn’t know about that. And a store credit if it fails , wow you got a good deal. I can tell ya that my new frig is not nearly made as well as the old frig in the garage. That old frig never broke down . It’s still ticking after many years of service and not a single break down unlike the new one. Solid state parts unlike the parts of new appliances mostly plastic.

I finally gave up today and called the plummer . He opened up a clogged washer drain pipe and one side of the kitchen sink was clogged and now that’s open. He was done in a flash. Which makes me wonder why I waited so long . The outtake pipes in this house have seen better days. Fingers crossed we make thru another year.

Good Thursday morning all. Currently 17°C and overcast. Weatherman says it will be mostly cloudy today but no rain until tonight.
My mower is fixed at work, so its going to be an all day grass day today. Any longer and the grass will need a baler! Then errands and shopping after work, and cutting my own grass as we are about to get 2 days of rain. Rain will be good because the ground is very dry and I want to get my gardens planted!
Have a great Thursday all :)

Mow, mow, mow your grass, life is but a dream (to the tune of Row, row, row your boat). We've been blessed with rain and the grass has responded--all too well. While husband is mowing I'm going to harvest some herbs and hang them to dry or prep others for freezing. On the bright side, the roses are in full bloom, as are the salvia greggiis and spider wort.
Hope you all have a happy and productive day!

The ‘mow’ , ‘row ‘ … reference to a certain song I have not thought of for years. Thank you for the enlightenment. Now every time I go out to mow the pastures that song will be running thru my brain non-stop .

I Always enjoy your clever stories. Enjoy your herb pickin & hanging while your olfactory detects the discriminate odors which influence innate re-sponses while appreciating this garden chore .

By the way that word herb always reminds me of Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass group from the 60’s.

Good Saturday morning all. Currently 14°C and overcast. We had an early morning thunderstorm and everything outside looks so happy and green.
Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day after all, and I got a lot of work done at work.
Today, its time to get some work done around my own yard! Grass to cut, trimming to do, and garden beds to prep.
Maybe a little time to rest this long weekend too.
Have a great day all :)

Somebody taught me how to make espresso with cream. Here it is Dawn, or trying to be anyway, but the steady downpour and clouds are chasing away the early light. The coffee is good, the sounds are soothing. I may step outside since it is 72f out there.

Good Sunday morning all. Currently 11°C and overcast. It rained most of the night, and everything is super soaked. Huge 'puddle' down the front of the property and Thunder got 'the zoomies' running in and out of it and got wet from head to toe. Nothing like the smell of a wet German Shepherd! haha
I'm waiting patiently for the garden center to open this morning, and hope to have a gardening day if the weather improves. Its a little cool and wet for my liking yet.
Have a great day all :)

It is a great Sunday! Timi the cat had been missing for three days, and we were trying to resign ourselves to the fact that she was gone. This morning she was on the porch, wanting to come in as if nothing had happened! To say we were happy to see her is a huge understatement. She was hungry and tired, but nothing else was amiss.
The predicted rain storm didn't appear, so some outside work can be done. Why do we have to nursemaid some wanted plants and the weeds just thrive on their own? Our zinnia seeds are sprouting, and the roses are in bloom, and the cat is home. It is a good day.
Hope you all have as good a day as ours.

Honey in my coffee because it will be a mellow day. How could it not be after being woken at 5:30am by a screaming weather alert radio announcing polygons and 80mph winds unexpectedly. Sunday morning and my wife is mad that my little dog so scared of thunder decided to leave her on the couch and climb up with me because the big guy is less likely to blow away in a storm. It is nice out now but humid, 69f and just the pale cloud cover of a past storm thinning away.

Cats are so mysterious as wanderers. Sometimes they hide if frightened. So happy to hear kitty is back home safe and sound. :smt023 I remember a video where a camera was put on a cat to see where the cat goes at night and then the trail was mapped out . It turned out the cat had a zig zag pattern on the map and usually traveled a large area nightly.
It’s the little things in life especially pets , plants that make our day. Zinnias a fav flower they continue to have tiny flower parts blooming thruout the season. A flower within a flower . They also dry well in silica sand maintaining their bright vibrant colors. A nice keepsake during the cold dreary days of winter .
    Have a good day…:smt023
